Kia ora e te whānau,

 Level 2 Reminders

- During Level 2 we are asking parents to ‘kiss and drop’ their children at our gates on King Street or Alexander Avenue. If you do need to come into school, please come in via our office to sign in.

- The water fountains are closed so please ensure tamariki have their own drink bottles

Tamariki Safety

- Please talk to your children about the importance of looking up driveways and crossing roads carefully when walking to and from school. We want our tamariki to be safe and sound.

- Remember that our main gate on King Street is locked from 8.15am to 8.40am and 2.30pm to 3.00pm every day. This is to make sure our tamariki are safe during the busy times of the day and we do not unlock the gates during this time if you happen to be locked in.

- Our school policy is that tamariki need to be wearing a helmet if bringing any wheels to school - scooters, bikes, skateboards or skates. Matua Joe is out at the scooter shed after school ensuring that tamariki are wearing helmets. If not, we will look after their scooter here until a helmet is brought in. Thank you for your support in this.

Attendance

During Level 2 all children should be attending school unless they are sick or they are immunocompromised and you can provide a medical certificate.  Please feel free to ring our office or contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

Sports News

After lockdown and Covid cancellations, it is exciting to have Touch Rugby coming up in Term 4. Please have permission slips and the $10 paid to the office asap so we can start putting the teams together.

Once a decision has been made regarding Tough Guy/Gal that was supposed to happen in August, we will let whanau know.

Our new Teacher Aides - Mere, Rahera, Shinoa and Joe are all passionate about sport and love sharing their skills with our tamariki. Hopefully in Term 4 there will be more sports that Allandale tamariki can participate in and we will keep you posted as we learn more.

Kereru 9's adventurous bug hunting expedition. They had lots of fun finding all sorts of bugs around our school

Skateboarding School

Dan Henriksen will be running skateboarding classes here at Allandale on Monday afternoons. This is a very popular class but he will have spaces available in early November. Please let the office know if this is something your tamariki might be interested in.

Due to Covid Restrictions, we cannot hold whole school assemblies in our school hall but last Friday we did have a ‘zoombely’ where we celebrated our Allandale Kind of Kids.
